COMING SOON: More information on The Zara Manzur Foundation Scholarship  

The Zara Manzur Foundation Scholarship was founded in memory of Zara Manzur who passed away from complications of Mitochondrial Disease shortly before her 2nd birthday in 2025. Zara had many different doctors, specialists and supportive therapists who supported Zara and her parents on their journey together. Her family was touched by so many inspiring and fantastic doctors, nurses, medical providers, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech Language Pathologists that they met during Zara’s life. These passionate and incredible providers were not only supportive of Zara, but also helped her parents through their journey.

 

When Zara passed, her parents, Allyson & Fahim, founded a nonprofit in her memory, The Zara Manzur foundation. They picked Groton students as their focus because Zara would have gone to the Groton, CT Public Schools and her mom has been teaching in the Groton  Public Schools since August 2013.
